The National Republican Congressional Committee has promoted David Richter to the top tier in their Young Guns program, a designation that potentially opens fundraising doors for Richter nationally.
Richter, a former Hill International CEO, is challenging freshman Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown) in New Jersey’s hugely competitive 3rd district.
“These candidates are gaining serious momentum in their respective races,” said House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of Richter and fifteen other GOP House candidates moved to the NRCC top tier today. “They’re working every single day to fight back against the Democrats’ socialist agenda and their success is critical to ensure we flip the House this November.”
The only two New Jersey GOP House challengers at the Young Guns top level are Richter and Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr., who is challenging Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) in New Jersey’s 7th district.
Rosemary Becchi, a former tax counsel to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee running against Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) in the 11th, is at the second of the three tiers. At the lower tier is investment banker Frank Pallotta, who is taking on Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) in the 5th district.
