Rep. Rob Menendez (D-Jersey City) is out with a new ad for his re-election campaign that lays the blame for the high cost of living at the feet of data centers, corporations, and President Donald Trump.
“High prices are no accident,” Menendez says in the ad. “It’s AI data centers, it’s CEOs not paying their fair share, it’s Trump’s illegal wars. Enough is enough. Every day, I’m working to make life more affordable for you and your family, and to defend the community we love.”
Menendez’s campaign said the ad will be backed by a six-figure buy on digital and streaming platforms.
The congressman faces a Democratic primary challenge next month from Mussab Ali, the former president of the Jersey City school board. Menendez is also running an ad that puts Delaney Hall, the Newark immigrant detention center that made national news last year when Menendez and his colleagues conducted an ill-fated oversight visit, at the forefront.
