Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) added 209 more votes to his margin after 4,608 new votes in Somerset and 240 additional ballots in Morris were counted on Wednesday.
Malinowski now leads Republican Thomas Kean, Jr. by 5,150 votes, 215,682 to 210,532 (50.6% to 49.4%).
The New Jersey Globe projected Malinowski as the winner of the 7th district congressional race last night after additional votes were added to the tally from Union County.
Somerset County still has about 330 vote-by-mail ballots to be hand-counted and another 3,000 to 4,000 provisionals, but these are countywide and not necessarily just the 7th district.
Malinowski won 51% of the Somerset votes released today and 70% of those in Morris.
