The New Jersey State Council of Machinists (NJSCM), which represents around 20,000 New Jersey members, today announced their endorsement of Port Authority Commissioner Rob Menendez in the 8th congressional district.
“Rob has demonstrated an understanding of the economic pressures impacting the lives of the working families that we represent in the 8th district,” NJSCM president Cristino Vilorio said in a statement. “We know that he will support our members and that together we can seek to find solutions to make our world better.”
Menendez, the son of Senator Bob Menendez, is the heavy favorite to win the Democratic nomination against healthcare startup director David Ocampo Grajales and Amistad Commission member Ane Roseborough-Eberhard. One Republican, Marcos Arroyo, is also running in the safely Democratic Hudson County-based district.
