Kennedy uses Game of Thrones ad to attack Norcross, Harrison

By David Wildstein, March 06 2020 1:19 pm

Amy Kennedy has a new digital ad  portraying Brigid Harrison and Rep. Jeff Van Drew as Game of Thrones characters, with Democratic powerbroker George Norcross ruling from the Iron Throne.

“George Norcross is twisting arms and rigging the primary with back room deals for Brigid Harrison, the same way he did for Jeff Van Drew,” said Josh Roesch, Kennedy’s campaign manager.  And we know how well that turned out.”

Roesch says that Norcross “rigged this election last time for Jeff Van Drew, who turned out to be a Republican.”

“Now, he is trying to do the same thing with Brigid Harrison, who supported Chris Christie for President instead of Barack Obama and might also be a Republican in Democratic clothing.”

Roesch said. “Phony endorsements, rigged conventions, dirty smear campaigns from third parties are all part of the ‘game’ Norcross is playing from his iron throne in Camden and his pool chair in Mar-A-Lago.”

In an October 2011 Op-Ed for The (Bergen) Record, Harrison wrote that Christie should seek the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

But the opinion piece was written with mostly sarcastic overtones and was more critical of Christie than supportive.

Harrison is the choice of South Jersey Democratic leaders who backed Van Drew for the party’s nomination for Congress in 2018.  She has the backing of six Democratic county chairmen and Senate President Steve Sweeney.

“What the party boss isn’t counting on is the fact that the people of NJ-2 don’t want to be pawns in his game—they want to choose who will represent them in Congress,” Roesch said.

Clicking on the banner will send people to a petition supporting Kennedy’s plan to end corruption in politics and enact election reform.
