The Uniformed Firefighters Association IAFF Local 1066 and the Jersey City Fire Officers Association Local 1064 have endorsed Rep. Rob Menendez (D-Jersey City) for re-election to a second term in New Jersey’s 8th district.
“Rob is a proven champion for firefighters, emergency medical, and allied support services personnel,” Jersey City Fire Fighters and Officers Association President Peter Nowak and President of the Uniformed Fire Fighters Association of Jersey City Joseph W. Krajnik said.
Menendez faces Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla in the Democratic primary on Tuesday.
Nowak and Krajnuk praised Menendez’s legislation to study vessel fires close to shorelines to reduce potential risks to firefighters, and his ability to deliver federal dollars to first responders in his district.
“Rob is responsive to our concerns and he has made it clear that he is a strong ally for our unionized brothers and sisters,” said Nowak and Krajnuk. “We have been deeply impressed by Congressman Rob Menendez’s relentless work ethic and we are proud to endorse him for re-election because we know he will always fight for us.”
