OPINION
As one of the sixteen Democrats who voted for last week’s bill on Israel, and one of the most ardent supporters of the US-Israel relationship, I am outraged by the NRCC’s inappropriate, manipulative, and divisive attacks.
Partisanship is one thing. Flagrant attacks on the patriotism of those you disagree with, many of whom are veterans, is a naked attempt to divide our country.
The NRCC knows that there is a difference between a legitimate policy disagreement and being pro-Hamas.
All they are doing is playing politics with the US-Israel relationship, and undermining the short-and-long-term stability of the region. It’s shameful. If they truly care about getting the hostages free, including American hostages, crushing Hamas, and delivering humanitarian aid, they would do everything they can to keep the US-Israel relationship bipartisan.
This is also about our ability to work together and get things done for our country. In the interest of our country and long-term stability around the world, I hope they stop playing games and put our country first.
