Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Tenafly) is the Human Fundraising Machine once again.
Gottheimer raised more than $1 million – $1,056,680, to be exact – during the final fundraising quarter of 2025, a sum that’s relatively par for the course for the congressman but that would be an enormous single-quarter total for almost any of his House colleagues.
And after Gottheimer’s substantial warchest was depleted by last year’s gubernatorial campaign, where Gottheimer fell short in the Democratic primary, the congressman is now back above $10 million in his campaign account. Combined with his leadership PAC, Gottheimer has $11 million cash on-hand in total.
Gottheimer is unlikely to need much of that money in this year’s race for re-election to Congress. While his Bergen County-based 5th congressional district came just a few thousand votes away from voting for Donald Trump in 2024, Republicans aren’t seriously targeting him for defeat this year, and neither of his declared GOP opponents has reported raising any money from donors.
