Former presidential candidate Steve Forbes will headline a fundraiser for GOP congressional candidate Larry Casha next month.
Casha wants to take on Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) in New Jersey’s 11th district.
Forbes, the editor of a prominent business magazine that bears his family name, sought the Republican presidential nomination in 1996 and 2000. He is a resident of Bedminster.
The event will be held at Casha’s home in Kinnelon. Ticket prices range from $225 to $2,900.
Casha is the Republican state committeeman from Morris County and a former Kinnelon council president.
Five other Republicans are currently in the race for the NJ-11 GOP nomination: Morris County Commissioner Tayfun Selen, former assistant Passaic County Prosecutor Paul DeGroot, former Ridgefield Park councilman Robert Kovic, attorney Larry Friscia, and Iraq War U.S. Army veteran Toby Anderson.
Assemblywoman Aura Dunn (R-Mendham) is also mulling a congressional run. She appeared before the Passaic County Republican screening committee on Saturday.
