One week after breaking the record for the longest floor speech in U.S. Senate history, New Jersey’s Cory Booker has national favorables of 65%-11% among Democrats, according to an Economist/YouGov poll released today.

Booker has favorables of 72%-13% among people who said they voted for Kamala Harris last year, and at 62%-12% among self-described liberals – all good numbers as Booker eyes a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028.

Among all Americans, Booker is at 36%-29%; in comparison, President Donald Trump favorables at 43%-54%, and Elon Musk is at 40%-54%.

Booker, who held the Senate floor for over 25 hours during a marathon address that mainly criticized the Trump administration, has favorables of 54%-18% among Black Americans and 67%-11% among Democrats with leaners included.

He is up for re-election in 2026; so far, former Tabernacle Mayor Justin Michael Murphy is the only Republican to express interest in running.

The poll was in the field from April 5-8 with a sample size of 1,741 and a margin of error of +/1 3.1%.
