Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 8th district, released the following statement today after U.S. District Court Judge Zahid Quraishi granted a preliminary injunction that ends the organization line for the 2024 primary election and mandates office block voting:
“Due to the tireless advocacy of so many, the county line is finally gone. It’s why I submitted an amicus brief in support of the lawsuit, said Ravi Bhalla. Now, New Jersey will get what 49 other states have: free and fair elections. It’s a great day for democracy.”
