Monmouth County Republicans will award their organization line to Curtis Bashaw today for U.S. Senate following Alex Zdan’s withdrawal from the race.

GOP leaders met today and picked Bashaw, who finished second at the county convention.

Bashaw, a hotelier and real estate developer from Cape May County, now has fourteen organization lines representing 61% of the statewide Republican voter registration in what has become a two-way race with Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner.

Monmouth was the third-highest vote-producing county in the 2020 Republican primary.

In February, Zdan beat Bashaw, 111-82, 57.5%-42.5%, on the second ballot in Monmouth.

Passaic County, where Zdan also had the line, also endorsed Bashaw this morning.

Bashaw has also scored organization endorsements in Atlantic, Ocean, Cumberland, Somerset, Camden, Mercer, Gloucester, Middlesex, Cape May, Burlington, Salem, and Essex.  Serrano Glassner has county party endorsements in Hunterdon, Union, Morris, Warren, Bergen, and Sussex.
