First Lady Tammy Murphy will skip her husband’s budget address to the legislature today, opting instead to be in the Boston area for a high-dollar fundraiser for her U.S. Senate campaign with Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey.

The event will be held at the home of former U.S. Ambassador to Spain Alan Solomont and his wife, Susan.  Solomont is a former Democratic National Committee finance chairman, a post Gov. Phil Murphy held nearly a decade later.  Solomont is a founder of J Street, an influential pro-Israel lobbying group.

Hosts include former Democratic National Chairman Steve Grossman and his wife, Barbara.  Grossman is a former Massachusetts state treasurer and state party chairman and a former AIPAC national chairman, along with Democratic fundraiser Joyce Amico and philanthropist Barbara Lee.

Lee, a major donor and fundraiser to women candidates nationally, grew up in West Orange.

Phil and Tammy Murphy were donors to the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee, Gov. Deval Patrick, and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino in 2006 and 2007.

Joanna Lydgate, Healey’s partner and the president of the States United Democracy Center, will also attend the Murphy fundraiser.
