The founder of a grassroots group that organized women supporters of President Donald Trump in New Jersey last year has endorsed Phil Rizzo for the Republican nomination for governor.
“I am convinced Phil Rizzo is the best candidate to advance a Pro-Trump MAGA style agenda in New Jersey,” said Tracey Lore, the founder of New Jersey Women for Trump. “I am excited to endorse him for governor.”
Lore’s group has over 30,000 Facebook followers, although it’s not immediately clear how many members of the organization are from New Jersey.
Rizzo, a Hudson County pastor, is battling perennial candidate Hirsh Singh for the support of avidly pro-Trump voters in the June 8 GOP primary.
Former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli has a six-point lead over Singh, 29%-23%, with 38% of likely GOP primary voters still undecided, according to a Public Policy Polling survey. Rizzo is third with 8%, followed by former Franklin Mayor Brian D. Levine with 2%.
