Indivisible, one of the nation’s leading grassroots progressive groups, has endorsed Andy Kim’s bid for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination in New Jersey.
The endorsement includes Indivisible New Jersey and followed a straw vote of their in-state membership.
“Indivisible is beyond proud to stand behind Andy Kim and join with the many local leaders up and down the state of New Jersey who is excited to carry him into office,” said Indivisible co-founder and co-executive director Ezra Levin. “Andy Kim is the pro-democracy candidate in New Jersey. His commitment to ending the filibuster and getting things done in the Senate – they’re exactly what we need more of in Washington. His record shows that he not only leads with integrity and humility, but also with grit and the energy needed to push back against MAGA extremists in the Senate.”
The organization was founded in 2016 after Donald Trump won the presidency. Indivisible quickly gained acclaim after publishing a 23-page handbook, “Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda,” that helped activists organize local movements in their hometowns.
There are nearly 100 small progressive groups across New Jersey that are part of the Indivisible bubble.
Dani Negrete, Indivisible’s national political director, said that Kim, a three-term congressman and former Obama White House staffer, has shown “an unwavering commitment to the people of New Jersey.”
“From championing climate policy and affordable healthcare in Congress to protecting our national security as an advisor to our country’s leaders, Andy Kim has consistently been a principled public servant whose actions and values are aligned with voters across New Jersey,” Negrete said. “When Andy Kim goes to the Senate, he will bring a wealth of experience and use it to serve all New Jerseyans—not foreign governments, wealthy donors, or party bosses.”
“We believe that Andy Kim, alongside Senator Cory Booker, will deliver the kind of representation and leadership in Washington that New Jerseyans have always deserved in the Senate,” Negrete added.
