Hudson County Commissioner Yraida Aponte-Lipski endorsed Jersey City Councilman James Solomon in his runoff mayoral campaign against former Gov. Jim McGreevey.
She praised Solomon’s constituent services work in her endorsement. Aponte-Lipski represents Hudson County’s 4th district, which includes parts of Wards C, D, and E in Jersey City.
“Councilman Solomon and I have consistently worked together the past five years to address constituent concerns, and I believe he and his team’s commitment to constituent services would be good for our city,” Aponte-Lipski said.
She joins Senator Andy Kim, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, and Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea, who finished third in last week’s Jersey City mayoral race, in endorsing Solomon.
Aponte-Lipski also endorsed Solomon’s slate of council candidates: Michael Griffin, Rolando Lavarro, and Mamta Singh for Council At-Large; Tom Zuppa for Ward C; and Jake Ephros for Ward D.
