25th district State Senate candidate Clifford Dawkins has been endorsed by Tawanna Cotten, a Morristown councilwoman.
“Knowing Cliff both personally and professionally, he clearly has a genuine concern for people in our community and is committed to bettering the lives of those around him,” said Cotten. “Cliff currently serves on various committees and boards within and around the district and he devotes much of his time to mentoring young people and educating members of our community about the voting process. I am proud and excited to support him in his race for State Senate.”
Dawkins faces former Morris Township mayor Jeff Grayzel and Rupande Mehta at an online Democratic convention tomorrow for the chance to take on State Sen. Anthony M. Bucco (R-Boonton) in a special election.
Cotton took office in January after defeating incumbent Hiliari Davis in the 2019 Democratic primary for the second ward council seat.
“Tawanna has a true heart of service,” Dawkins said. “She is sharp, caring and incredibly hardworking. It is a true honor to have the support of such a talented and beloved community leader.”
