U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorses Kean for Congress in NJ-7

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (R-Westfield) for re-election, the fourth time the nation’s largest business organization has backed him in a congressional campaign.

The Chamber endorsed Kean in his unsuccessful 2020 challenge to Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski, again in their 2022 rematch, when Kean won the seat, and for his first re-election campaign in 2024.

This year’s endorsement came during a stop in Raritan Borough on the Chamber’s Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour.  Kean is seeking a third term in November against Democrat Rebecca Bennett, a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot.

Kean was joined by Stephen McAllister, the Chamber’s vice president for the Eastern Region; former State Sen. Rich Bagger (R-Westfield), a member of the Chamber’s board; and Raritan Mayor Don Tozzi for visits to two recently opened downtown businesses, Zio’s Market Italian Deli and Usual Suspects.

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is proud to be in Raritan today to endorse Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. for reelection to represent New Jersey’s 7th district,” said Stephen McAllister, vice president, Eastern Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  “Tom is a fighter for New Jersey, fighting for pro-growth policies like lowering costs, building reliable infrastructure, and growing the economy so businesses, workers, and families in New Jersey can thrive.”

The Chamber says it endorses federal candidates who support free enterprise and policies aimed at economic growth, job creation, innovation, and business investment.

“I am proud to earn the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, an organization that shares my unwavering dedication to strengthening New Jersey’s economy,” Kean stated. “Together, we are focused on empowering main street businesses, fostering innovation, and supporting policies that create more jobs.”

Kean pledged to fight “against mandates that make it harder for businesses to thrive and work to cut burdensome government regulations.”
