Neal Goldstein, a former school board member, has been appointed to fill a seat on the Roseland Borough Council.  He succeeds Roger Freda, who resigned on February 27.

The council sele`cted Goldstein over two other names submitted by the local Democratic organization: Frank Firavanti and Victor Rotunda.   He is the chief technology officer for Mutual of America.

“In my opinion, Councilman Goldstein will bring great added value to this Council,” said Mayor James Spango.  “I personally look forward to the contributions that he can bring to this governing body and to the Borough, and I’m proud to have you sitting up here.”

Goldstein is expected to seek a full term as a councilman in November in a politically competitive town.

In 2020, Donald Trump carried Roseland by 64 votes, 50.25%.
