Elizabeth Warren won a Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) straw poll on Sunday evening, beating out Amy Klobuchar and Michael Bloomberg in a vote that utilizing ranked choices to pick a winner.

Democrats in one of New Jersey’s marquis progressive Democratic municipalities were asked to rank their choices, one through eight, establishing a point system.

Warren finished first with 634 points, followed by Klobuchar (602), Bloomberg (530), Pete Buttigieg (501), Bernie Sanders (453), Joe Biden (372), Tom Steyer (227) and Tulsi Gabbard (116).

In 2017, more than 300 members of the PCDO participated in a vote that endorsed Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-Sayreville), Sanders’ 2016 New Jersey campaign chairman, for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination.

Wisniewski won more than 60% of the vote in a second-ballot win over Phil Murphy.

The major advocate of ranked choice voting in New Jersey is Princeton’s assemblyman, Andrew Zwicker (D-South Brunswick).
