Donald Trump’s New Jersey fundraising is down more than 69% from where George W. Bush was at the same point in his re-election campaign sixteen years ago.

Trump has raised $359,661 from New Jersey donors, while Bush raised $1,176,550 during a similar time period, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

At the same point during the 2016 campaign, Trump reported raising just $1,500 in New Jersey – all from Peter Habig, a retired trader from Summit who also contributed to Ben Carson, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

New Jersey ranks just 17th out of 50 in fundraising for Trump’s re-election campaign, despite the president’s longtime ties to Atlantic City casinos, his golf club in Bedminster, and former Gov. Chris Christie.

After the second quarter of 2003, just 8 other states brought in more money for Bush than New Jersey.

Bush wound up raising $4,629,180 from New Jersey donors during the 2004 cycle.  New Jersey brought in 2,553,094 for Trump in 2016.

Trump has six donors who have made a maximum $5,600 contribution so far: Lawrence Colangelo of Mount Laurel, the managing director of Trillium Energy; Goda Dattareya of Summit, a senior vice president at Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets; First Data CEO Frank Bisagnano and his wife, Tracy, both of Watchung; Bill Cortese of Montclair, a principal at Warwick Strategy Group; and Dorothy Giordano, a retired Moorestown resident.

Several top Trump 2016 donors have not contributed to his re-election campaign, including former Celgene CEO Bob Hugin.
