The two share a law practice

Sharing a law practice isn’t enough to get Jim Florio to vote across party lines.

The former governor told the New Jersey Globe he wouldn’t back State Republican Chairman Doug Steinhardt should the latter choose to run in 2021.

“He’s not the right party as far as I’m concerned,” Florio said. “I would not vote for him. I’m a Democratic voter.”

Florio and Steinhardt are both partners at the law firm Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Cappelli, along with Camden County freeholder Louis Cappelli.

Steinhardt has been mentioned as a potential challenger to Gov. Phil Murphy.
