Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna on Friday presented Assemblyman Jay Webber with an award for his role in passing the Safer Schools Act.
“It’s an honor to receive this recognition, but the true reward is knowing that we’re keeping child predators out of our schools,” said Webber. “I’m the father of seven children, and as a parent their safety is my constant concern.”
The act requires that schools share information on sexual misconduct and child abuse investigations and bars them from entering separation agreements that would restrict the sharing of information about such violations.
