Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) more than doubled Rosemary Becchi’s fundraising in the final weeks of the race for the 11th congressional district’s House seat, according to campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Sherrill reported raising $380,866 to the challenger’s $167,889 between Oct. 15 and Nov. 23.

The figures bring Sherrill’s fundraising for the cycle to just over $6.5 million. Becchi’s fundraising to-date is a little more than $1.4 million.

The incumbent had the spending advantage, too. She reported disbursing $843,174 over the period, to Becchi’s $335,253. Sherrill spent just under $4 million over the duration of the race, while Becchi’s spending for the cycle was a about $1.4 million.

The challenger finished the race with just $17.77 in her war chest, while Sherrill still had about $3.2 million.
