Republican John Leggio, who won an off-the-line victory in the June primary, was elected mayor of Howell Township with 68% against Democrat John Hughes.  This is a flip for the GOP; Democratic Mayor Theresa Berger did not run again.

Another Republican, Evelyn Malsbury O’Donnell, won a Howell council seat.

In an Ocean Township special election for the unexpired term of now-Assemblywoman Margie Donlon, interim Councilwoman Gitta Kaplan won with 54% against Jacqui Wenzel in a non-partisan election.

Incumbents Amy Quinn, Yvonne Clayton and Eileen Chapman easily won re-election to their Asbury Park City Council seats in a non-partisan municipal race.

In an open seat, non-partisan contest for Bradley Beach mayor, Councilman Alan Gubitosi defeated William Psiuk with 58% of the vote.  Shana Greenblatt defeated Donald Warnet for a council seat with 57%.
