Democrat Kyleigh Heins won the Mantua Township Committee seat, defeating Republican challenger Michele Leach and keeping the seat vacated by retiring Democratic Committeeman John Legge in Democratic hands.
Heins received 3,527 votes, while Leach received 2,739 votes. Heins defeated Leach by 788 votes
Leach, a member of the Mantua Township Board of Education, sought to flip the seat as the Republican nominee. Heins, a wellness specialist, challenged her as the Democratic nominee.
The result preserves the Democrats’ 5-0 majority on the five-member Township Committee, leaving Republicans without representation on the governing body.
Mantua has been competitive in recent statewide elections despite leaning Republican at the top of the ticket. Donald Trump carried the township by 10 percentage points in 2024, while Gov. Mikie Sherrill won Mantua by three points in 2025.
