Berkeley Heights: Woodruff wins GOP primary

Mayor will face Angie Devanney in fall

Berkeley Heights Mayor Robert Woodruff

Berkeley Heights mayor Robert Woodruff won renomination in Tuesday’s Republican primary, defeating challenger Tom Maciejewski by a 61%-39% margin.

Woodruff won by 328 votes, 930 to 602.   He will face Democrat Angie Devanney, the former township administrator and a prominent political operative, in the general election.

Berkeley Heights is traditionally a Republican town, although Democrat Susan Poage won a council seat there last year.
