Lenox Consulting has hired Emma Sylvia as a communications specialist, increasing the Hoboken-based strategic communications and public affairs firm’s full-time staff to five.

Sylvia joins the firm with experience in writing, community engagement, and storytelling.  She previously worked at the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce, helping organize events and working with members of the local nonprofit and business communities.

She later worked for Community Magazine, a Monmouth County publication that covers local leaders, businesses, community events, foundations, and nonprofit organizations.

“Emma has already shown us that she shares a passion for engaging with the communities we work in and that she has an ability to build meaningful relationships that will make her an invaluable part of our growing team and an important resource for our clients,” said Steve Lenox, the firm’s president.  “We are excited to welcome Emma on board.”

Sylvia earned a bachelor’s degree in English, with a concentration in creative writing, from Pace University in New York City. She also interned with the National Book Foundation, where she supported programs intended to bring literature and storytelling to underserved communities, and volunteered at the organization’s annual National Book Awards.

At Lenox Consulting, Sylvia will help clients develop their messages, reach key audiences, and promote the work of businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders in New Jersey and elsewhere.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Lenox Consulting, giving me the chance to meet people from all across the state and share their stories,” Sylvia said. “Even after just starting, I’ve already begun to make connections that I never would have been exposed to if not for this opportunity.”

Lenox Consulting operates in the United States and Ireland and represents a portfolio of local, national and international clients.  The firm provides communications strategy, media relations, advocacy and stakeholder-engagement services.
