Former Newark Mayor Sharpe James released the following statement on the death of former State Sen. Ronald Rice:
“Senator Ron Rice as a soldier and elected official, and more importantly as a gentleman and consensus builder, made Newark and New Jersey better places. We will greatly miss his tireless voice for a better quality of life for all. He unequivocally was one of the ‘good guys’ in politics.”
