Former Star-Ledger journalist dies

Jim Pathe, a recognizable figure throughout New Jersey as a Star-Ledger photographer, passed away on January 13.  He was 83.

According to a published obituary supplied by his family, Pathe “first picked up a camera during the Vietnam War movement, when he helped found Veterans for Peace.”

“He was a sailor, outdoorsman and voracious reader who inspired his daughter, Simone, to become a journalist.”   Simone Pathe covers politics for Roll Call.

Donations in memory of Pathe may be made to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
