Donald J. Storch, who worked for the Daily Record as general assignment reporter and later as a news editor, died on October 30. He was 84.
Storch worked at the Daily Record from 1957 to 1961, and then joined the public relations department at Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) where he worked for nineteen years. From 1980 to 2000, he ran a public relations firm that represented several New Jersey-based pharmaceutical companies.
In 2000, he launched the Storch Report, a conservative blog that he operated until just a few weeks ago.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Storch was an All-State baseball player at Irvington High School and had tryouts with the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers. He later served on the board of trustees of Overlook Medical Center.
