Ex-attorney general’s mother dies

Gail Gleason Milgram, a former Rutgers University Professor and the mother of Anne Milgram, the administrator of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the former attorney general of New Jersey, died on July 8.  She was 81.  Milgram was the director of education and training for the Center of Alcohol and Substance Use Studies at Rutgers.

Churchill Blakeley, M.D., a two-term Wenonah councilman and an unsuccessful candidate for Gloucester County freeholder three times, died on Juyne 12.  He was 84.

Albert Kazlow
, who served on the Linden Planning Board, died on July 9., He was 98.

Tim Tweed, a former Morris County Park Commissioner, died on July 8.  He was 81.

Shawn Planter, who worked in the Cumberland County Surrogate’s office, died on June 30.  She was 50.

Howard Openshaw II, a retired captain of the Hudson County Sheriff’s office, where he worked for 37 years, died on June 16.  He was 91.  Openshaw served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and owned Briody’s Tavern in Jersey City.
