Lt. Governor Tahesha Way issued the following statement today on the departure of George Helmy as Gov. Phil Murphy’s chief of staff:
“I have had the honor of working with George for the last four years in my role as Secretary of State and now as Lieutenant Governor.
“George has been described by colleagues as thoughtful, strategic, and kind-hearted. But I’d like to add one more: tenacious. Advising the Governor not just through the state budget process each year, but also through a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, is no small feat.
“His leadership has improved the lives of millions of New Jerseyans. I wish him nothing but success in his next chapter.”
