Republican elected officials in Hasbrouck Heights are backing Jack Ciattarelli for the Republican nomination for governor next year.

Ciattarelli has the support of Mayor Ron Kister, GOP municipal chairman Dennis Nuzzo, and the entire all-Republican governing body as he seeks to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy.

“Here in Hasbrouck Heights, we know Jack Ciattarelli. He’s held a town hall at our VFW, spent hours answering questions from our residents, and has consistently shown up to help us elect strong Republican candidates at the local level” Kister stated. “Jack understands the needs of our residents and will fight for them in Trenton. He’ll cut property taxes, support our police, respect our parents, and build an economy that finally gives working families a boost. It’s time for Governor Jack Ciattarelli.”

Joining Kister and Nuzzo on the endorsement list as Councilmembers Joseph Samperi, Charlotte Sodora, Michael Sickels, Thomas Meli, Susan McGuire, and Robert Bing.  Councilman-elect Christopher Blum is also with Ciattarelli.

Ciattarelli, a former assemblyman, Somerset County freeholder, and Raritan councilman, came within three percentage points of upsetting Gov. Phil Murphy in 2021.

He carried Hasbrouck Heights in the Republican primary with 67.6% of the vote in a five-candidate field in that race, and won  the town by a 52%-47% against Murphy in the general election.
