Rep. Jeff Van Drew, who is preparing to switch parties and become a Republican, missed six of eight roll call votes in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday.
Among Van Drew’s missed votes were approval of the Improving Confidence in Veterans’ Care Act, the Hazard Eligibility and Local Projects Act, and the Identifying Barriers and Best Practices Study Act.
The House Blue Dog Coalition voted to revoke Van Drew’s membership in the group of centrist Democrats, The Hill reported. Two other New Jersey Democrats, Josh Gottheimer and Mikie Sherrill, are members of the caucus.
The Clerk of the House still has Van Drew listed as a Democrat.
Both of Van Drew’s committees, Agriculture and Natural Resources, list the 2nd district congressman as a Democrat on their website.
