Assemblyman Jay Webber is using former Vice President Joe Biden’svisist to the state as an opportunity to attack his opponent.
“Mikie Sherrill has made a seamless transition into the role of professional politician, beholden to Democrat Party bosses like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden,” said Webber spokesperson Ronica Cleary. “Make no mistake, you will continue to see Democrat party elites campaigning for Mikie up until Election Day, because they are fighting to send someone to Congress who will support their liberal platform that includes trillions of dollars in new taxes.”
The strategy is in line with what we’ve seen from Webber so far in the campaign. While some may try to frame opponents as political insiders, that isn’t really an option for Webber, who has been in the state legislature since 2008.
Instead, attacks that could be delivered along that line usually come as an attack focused on the Democratic party, as did attacks last month in which Webber inaccurately said Sherrill wanted to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
