Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund has endorsed Mikie Sherrill for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th district.
“We are proud to support these candidates, who have pledged to put public safety ahead of gun lobby priorities,” said John Feinblatt, President of Everytown for Gun Safety. “The fact that gun sense champions are running strong campaigns in red, blue and purple states is further proof that the political calculus on gun safety has dramatically shifted.”
The group receives considerable financial support from former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and was founded as part of a group of fifteen U.S. mayors as part of coalition to support gun control. Mayors Against Illegal Guns merged with Moms Demand Action in 2014.
“These leaders are proof that 2018 is different – across the country, campaigns are keeping gun safety front and center because their voters demand it,” said Shannon Watts, Founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. “Moms Demand Action volunteers will be with them every step of the way to elect leaders who will finally end this crisis.”
Sherrill has also won the endorsement of Gifford PAC, run by Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly.
“I was trained to use guns in the Navy and later worked as a federal prosecutor to keep illegal guns off the streets of New Jersey. I know that guns are a tremendous responsibility and should not be easy to obtain,” said Sherrill.

This is not a gun group This is a rabid ANTI GUN group backed by Michael Bloomberg thats agenda is to abolish the 2nd amendment. The candidate is a far left liberal AKA a wolf in sheep's clothing. The story headline is misleading.

The 2nd Amend is a RESTRICTIVE admendment. It states such in the Preamble to Bill of Rights. the 2A does not grant nor convey any right, but RESTRICTS and PROHIBITS the government from infringing upon this enumerated, pre-existing, God given right.

I was trained to use guns before I enlisted in the Army. After getting educated on the history and philosophy of the founding of this nation, I found that the people must have the means and ability to protect themselves and the nation. The Founders recognized that right and duty and thus we have the Second Amendment. What part of, "shall not be infringed." do you not understand?
