One of New Jersey’s greatest rivalries will get settled in May: the Asbury Park Press was first to report that Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider will face a challenge from Councilman John Pallone, the brother of U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone. This is a rematch of the 1994 mayoral election; Schneider is now seeking re-election to an eighth term.
The APP reports that Councilwoman Mary Jane Celli, who ran with Pallone in 1994 and then with Schneider in the last five elections, will run on the Pallone ticket.
