Father of Mayor Dies

Remigio Alejandro Lora-Sanchez, the father of Passaic Mayor Hector Lora, passed away on Sunday.  Born in the Dominican Republic, he came to the United States in 1977, worked as a machinist, became an ordained chaplain, and a naturalized U.S. citizen.   He was well-known and adored in Passaic for his ministry, and for preparing meals for seniors unable to leave their apartment.  Hector Lora became mayor in 2016, following the criminal conviction of Alex Blanco, and was elected in 2017.
