Calling him a “proven uniter, not a divider,” Hudson County Executive Craig Guy picked up the endorsements of ten of Hudson County’s twelve mayors on Tuesday, bolstering his bid for a second term in 2027.

Backing Guy are Mayors Brian Stack of Union City, Albio Sires of West New York, Richard Turner of Weehawken, Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski of Bayonne, Emily Jabbour of Hoboken, Carol Jean Doyle of Kearny, James Fife of Harrison, Dina Grillo of East Newark, Michael Gonnelli of Secaucus, and Wayne Zitt of Guttenberg.  Missing are Jersey City Mayor James Solomon and North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco.

In a joint statement, the mayors said Guy “has followed through on the promises he made when he ran for county executive two years ago” and praised his partnership with municipalities on issues ranging from emergency snow response to combating food insecurity during last year’s federal government shutdown.

“We know that working with Craig yields true results, and we will need that level of efficiency if we are going to achieve our shared goals of providing more affordable housing and clean, safe neighborhoods for every county resident,” the mayors said.

Guy said the endorsements reflect his administration’s commitment to working collaboratively with local governments.

“Receiving these significant endorsements today reaffirms for my staff and I that we are moving in the right direction,” he said. “The political infighting and grandstanding that often defines partisan politics does not improve anyone’s life.”

Guy’s campaign has already secured endorsements from the Laborers’ International Union of North America, and the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters.

Elected in 2023, Guy is also the Hudson County Democratic Chairman.
