In their second TV ad of this year’s elections, Democrats running in the 16th legislative district are spotlighting affordability and abortion.
The ad, “Show Us,” highlights Assemblyman Roy Freiman (D-Hillsborough), who is running for re-election on a slate with State Sen. Andrew Zwicker (D-South Brunswick) and newcomer Mitchell Drulis.
Freiman’s daughter narrates that ad that shows Freiman as a dad in old photographs and videos, while also emphasizing his work on affordability and abortion. The ad does not mention the Republican candidates at all.
Script: “This is Roy Freiman … the Assemblyman. He’s working with Andrew Zwicker and Mitchelle Drulis to make New Jersey more affordable and protect a woman’s right to choose. But if you want to know why … Look at Roy Freiman … the Dad. The silly moments. The serious lessons. My Dad would tell us, “Fight for what we believe in but be fair and kind.” And I’ve always loved watching him show us how it’s done.”
Earlier this month, the campaign released their first TV ad, which highlighted Drulis and abortion. That the Democrats already have two TV ads up suggests they are going on the offensive, in what will be one of the most competitive races this year.
