Former Morris County GOP Chairman Ronald DeFilippis has died. He was 72.
A former commissioner and chairman of the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission, DeFilippis was elected Morris County GOP Chairman in 2018 by just four votes, but stepped down in late 2019 for health reasons.

He served as a national co-finance chairman of Bob Dole’s 1988 presidential campaign.
DeFilippis was a former Roxbury Republican Municipal Chairman.
Christie nominated him to the ELEC post in 2010; he left eight years later to run for county chairman.
He is survived by his wife, Patti, and two sons.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
