Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the former speaker of the House, released the following statement on the death of Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson):
“It was with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Congressman Bill Pascrell: a devoted public servant and proud American patriot.
In the Congress, Congressman Pascrell has been a relentless champion of America’s working families — fighting for workers’ rights and investments in the education of our children.
He was a proud co-chair of the Congressional Italian-American Delegation and took great pride in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey being the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution — and he never let us forget any of it!
All of us in the House Democratic Caucus will deeply miss Congressman Pascrell. May it be a comfort to his beloved wife, Elsie, three children and five grandchildren that so many are praying for them at this sad time. May he rest in peace.”
