John Beatty, a former Sussex County Republican county committeeman, died on January 24. He was 93. A World War II Army veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Beatty served as the building inspector in Hardyston and Hamburg and was a founding member of the Hardyston volunteer fire department.
