Former councilman dies

Philip Apruzzi, a former Oceanport councilman, passed away on May 27.  He was 73.  Apruzzi served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1967 to 1973.  A Democrat, Apruzzi was a councilman from 1983 to 2005, when he resigned to move to Ocean Township.  He worked as a field representative for the New Jersey Gasoline Retailers Association.
