Kenia Nunez-Acuna, a Schools Development Authority staffer who is the cousin of SDA CEO Lizette Delgado-Polanco, resigned from the authority Friday after officials learned she had been accused of sexual harassment while working as Buena Vista’s business administrator in 2017, the Bergen Record reported.
Delgado-Polanco told The Record that she was not aware of the allegations against Nunez-Acuna before the newspaper contacted her for comment on the matter Thursday.
In February 2017, Nunez-Acuna was accused in a lawsuit of sexually harassing Richard Calareso, who was then Buena Vista’s director of public works.
The town settled the suit for $25,000. Provisions of that settlement eliminated Calareso’s position at the Department of Public works.
