Gov. Phil Murphy and his Republican opponent, former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, each received another disbursement under the state’s gubernatorial public financing law, with Murphy receiving for $1,065,400 and Ciattarelli getting $937,000 from the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.

Murphy has now pulled in $2,893,092 in matching funds, with Ciattarelli at $1,850,751.

New Jersey offers a 2-1 match on most contributions of up to $4,900, after the first $156,000 raised.

Both candidates can receive up to $10.5 million but must agree to an expenditure limit of $15.6 million.

Murphy and Ciattarelli qualified for the full match in the primary election.

An independent candidate must raise $490,000 to qualify for matching funds.  So far, none of the three independents have done so.
