Dan Bryan, a former senior advisor to Gov. Phil Murphy, issued the following statement today on the departure of George Helmy as Murphy’s chief of staff:

“I have been lucky to call George Helmy a friend and a mentor for years. I was lucky enough to work closely with him for the past five years, and I can honestly say that he is one of the most competent, responsive, and intelligent people I have ever worked with. Add to that the unique ability to deal with people, especially the cast of characters in New Jersey politics, and you have a once in a generation political operative. George is well positioned to maintain his success in New Jersey, and beyond, throughout the rest of his brilliant career.”
