Sherrill endorsed by NewDemPAC

Group will boost Dem House candidate fundraising

The political arm of the New Democratic Coalition is endorsing Mike Sherrill for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th district.

The endorsement is good for an $11,000 PAC check, as well as access to more fundraising opportunities.

The group is part of a national coalition of sixty House members who promote middle-class prosperity through fiscally responsible, pro-growth policies.  Two New Jersey congressmen, Donald Norcross (D-Camden) and Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff), are part of the New Democratic Coalition,

“Mikie Sherrill has shown a commitment to the forward-thinking, progress-oriented ideas that define the New Democrat Coalition,” said Jon Boughtin, political director for the NewDemPAC. “She is running a strong campaign and has what it takes to win in November. We look forward to working side-by-side with Mikie to bring home a victory and meet the challenges facing New Jersey’s 11th District head on.”

The NewDemPac contributed $11,000 to Gottheimer in his 2016 campaign to unseat seven-term Rep. Scott Garrett.

Sherrill, a former Navy helicopter pilot and federal prosecutor, is seeking the seat being vacated this year by Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-Harding).
