Newly-elected Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) has picked Parsippany as the site of her new district office.

The freshman Democrat had sought a location that was centrally located in the 11th district, with on-site parking and accessible by public transportation.  The NJ Transit bus stop on Smith Road at Wood Hollow Road is a block away from the office. It is served by the 874 and 79 NJ Transit Bus Routes.

This marks the return of a congressional office to Parsippany, the largest municipality in the district.  Rep. Dean Gallo (R-Parsippany) had an office there until 1988, when he moved to Morris Plains.  Gallo also had offices in Dover and West Caldwell.

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-Harding) maintained only an office in Morristown.

Sherrill will open her office at 8 Wood Hollow Road next Monday at 8:45 AM.
